Yash delays ‘Toxic’ release and avoids ‘Dhurandhar 2’ clash
The much anticipated Yash starrer ‘Toxic’ has been postponed, clearing the way for Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ to arrive in theatres without a box office clash. The makers confirmed that the film, earlier scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, will now hit cinemas worldwide on June 4, 2026.
Why the release date changed
According to the film’s production team, the decision was taken due to uncertainty in several overseas markets, particularly in the Middle East. The instability in the region has affected the distribution planning for international releases, prompting the makers to delay the film in order to ensure a wider and smoother global rollout.
The film was originally positioned for a major box office clash with ‘Dhurandhar 2’, which remains scheduled for release on March 19, 2026 during the festive period of Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and Eid.
A major pan India project
‘Toxic’, directed by Geetu Mohandas, features Yash in the lead role and has generated considerable attention since its announcement. The film is designed as a multilingual release and will arrive in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and English.
The project has been positioned as a large scale gangster drama and marks one of Yash’s most anticipated films after the success of the ‘KGF’ franchise.
A solo run for ‘Dhurandhar 2’
With ‘Toxic’ moving to June, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will now enjoy a solo theatrical window on March 19. The film is the sequel to the action thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ and continues the story introduced in the first instalment.
Trade observers believe the postponement could help both films maximise their box office potential by avoiding competition for screens during the same release period.
