IFFD 2026 opens in Delhi, Dharmendra honored posthumously

The inaugural International Film Festival of Delhi (IFFD 2026) kicked off on March 25 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The late Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore and Nandamuri Balakrishna were presented Lifetime Achievement Awards at the opening ceremony.

Hema Malini accepted the award on Dharmendra’s behalf. The festival, running from March 25 to 31, features more than 125 films from India and abroad, with all screenings free to the public through prior registration.

The programming mix is 40% Hindi cinema, 30% international films and 30% regional Indian cinema.
