Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ expected to release next year
Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma have commenced shooting for the highly anticipated film “King” at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai, marking Suhana’s big-screen debut. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, but the superstar has not yet joined the production and is expected to arrive later to shoot his scenes, including a grand entry sequence.
Originally, Abhay Verma was scheduled to begin filming around June or July, but due to last-minute scheduling changes, he started shooting earlier alongside Suhana. Some action sequences involving Shah Rukh Khan’s body double have already been filmed, with the production implementing tight security measures to prevent leaks, especially for intense scenes being shot in Bandra.
“King” features a star-studded ensemble cast including Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist, Deepika Padukone playing Suhana’s mother, and other notable actors such as Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles. The film is described as a revenge thriller packed with action, emotions, and drama, revolving around Shah Rukh Khan’s character mentoring Suhana’s character, his protege, in a dangerous world.
The movie is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures and is slated for a release on Gandhi Jayanti in 2026. Fans are eagerly awaiting the collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand, following their previous successes. This project also marks the first time Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana will share the screen in a feature film.
