Veteran journalist Chaitanya Padukone deeply touched by iconic Sonu Nigam’s heartwarming gestures!
Bollywood’s iconic singer-performer, reality show judge, and talented mimic Sonu Nigam seems to have left veteran film journalist Chaitanya Padukone emotionally moved. This is thanks to the singer’s genuine warmth and spontaneous caring gestures, often witnessed at various celebrations and launch events.
Chaitanya Padukone elaborates, “What is commendable is Sonu Nigam’s spontaneity in expressing warm gestures and his sentimental care and ‘apnapan’ towards those he respects, coupled with his reassuring ‘Main Hoon Na’ attitude. Quite often, one observes an attitude of irreverence and indifference from some of the younger generation towards seniors, which is rather painful. This is why Sonu’s modesty and caring gestures serve as an exemplary lesson in humility. Sonu-jee and I go back a long way; I had the opportunity to interact with and interview him during the early phase of his singing career, way back in 1995,” shares Padukone.

Besides his versatile vocal talents, with dozens of award-winning, chart-topping evergreen songs, Sonu-jee is also known for his resilience in the face of challenges. His personal docu-feature, Symphony of Fate, highlights his ability to bounce back, even after a health scare just before a live concert. Often referred to as the “Modern Rafi,” Sonu Nigam considers the legendary Mohammed Rafi Saab his ultimate idol.
This month, on December 24 (Rafi Saab’s centenary birthday), a rejuvenated Sonu Nigam will perform a unique live tribute concert titled Sau Saal Pehle at the prestigious NMACC in BKC.
